According to this, they are committed to the church's mandate and with their music they serve "the spread of faith, the liturgical organization of the worship service, the development of the congregation, pastoral care and service to others". In addition, a general cultural task in society is formulated.

The Baden Trombone Work offers its members trumpet days, advanced training courses, courses, festive worship services and leisure time. A big trombone day takes place regularly , for which 2000 wind players from all over Baden come together to spend the weekend and make music together.

Especially talented wind players of brass choirs are open three choices ensembles: The North Badische Brass Ensemble under the direction of the country trombone Warts Armin Schaefer , the Mittellbadische Bläserkreis and Südbadische Brass Ensemble under the direction of the country trombone Warts Heiko Petersen . The youth trombone choirs, each consisting of around 25 wind players, offer young people the opportunity to gain musical support.

The wind group of the University of Church Music Heidelberg (called "KI") serves church music students as a practice choir during their wind choir conducting lessons. It is under the direction of the state trombonist Armin Schaefer.

history

The first trombone choirs in Baden were created before 1900, e.g. in Hugsweiner (1882), the CVJM's trombone choir in Heidelberg (1888), the Lutheran trombone choir Ispringen (1890) and the trombone choirs in Ittlingen (1890) in Blankenloch , Friedrichstal and Unteröwisheim (1896) and Eschelbronn -Daisbach (1899).

Overarching forms of organization emerged from the 1920s, for example through the federal or state trombone warden Heinrich Großmann, who held this office in the Upper Rhine Christian Young Men Association until 1934. The various choirs got to know each other through the organization of regional trombone days in Freiburg / Br., Heidelberg, Karlsruhe and Pforzheim.

The Association of Protestant Trombone Choirs in Germany was founded on May 8, 1934, and the previous associations had to join. On June 6, 1934, the state association of Protestant trombone choirs in Baden was founded and Berthold Stober (Pforzheim-Dillweißstein) was appointed regional chairman and state trombonist.
