A state education center for the hearing impaired is the name in Germany for state educational institutions or special schools for pupils with a hearing impairment . This designation is used both for a school network in Lower Saxony and for the two state schools in Saxony-Anhalt . State education centers are directly sponsored by the state and operate nationwide. They offer pre-school, school, extracurricular and sometimes vocational school offers where special educational needs are identified for both deaf and hard of hearing children and young people.

Lower Saxony

In Lower Saxony there is a state education center for the hearing impaired (LBZH) as a state educational institution with school locations in Braunschweig , Hildesheim , Oldenburg and Osnabrück . In Hildesheim and Osnabrück there are additional vocational school offers for adults.

The Lower Saxony State Office for Social Affairs, Youth and Family is the specialist supervision and school authority .

The regional education center for the hearing impaired includes the following areas:
