The State Council of Schoolchildren of the State of Brandenburg (short: State School Council, LSR) is the legally authorized representation of the interests of the Brandenburg school body . He is a founding member of the National Schoolchildren Conference . It consists of several organs and its principles are non-partisan , non- denominational , tolerant and democratic .

The state student council has its office in the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MBJS for short) of the state of Brandenburg . The speaker is Nele Dreizehner from Elbe-Elster.

organization

Every state school in Brandenburg elects a representative to the district council in its conference of students. These 18 district student councils each elect two representatives to the state delegates' conference of the state student council. This has 36 members from the 18 districts and independent cities of Brandenburg .

The state school council elects an eight-member board that represents it on the state school council . These include a speaker and three deputy speakers.

He is professionally and organizationally supported in his work by a state advisory teacher, a participant in the voluntary social year in the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and by the office for participation bodies in the Ministry of Education. It is financed exclusively by the state.

tasks

The task of the regional student council is to represent the interests of the Brandenburg student body. He informs the public about his concerns, advises the political decision-makers, submits applications to the ministry responsible for schools in the state school advisory board . He also prepares the work in the state school council.
