Rural municipality of Oldenburg

The rural community of Oldenburg enclosed the city of Oldenburg (Oldb) in all directions. They included the farming communities Eversten , Bloh , Petersfehn , Wechloy , oven , Metjendorf , Ofenerfeld , Nadorst , Etzhorn , Wahnbek , Donnerschwee , Ohmstede , Bornhorst and Moorhausen and formed until 1810 with the community Osternburg and in the Osenberge villages of the municipality Had the House bailiwick of Oldenburg .

In 1863 the rural community had 942 houses and 6579 inhabitants (1793: 3159; 1828: 4489). The community was predominantly agricultural. The few local industries consisted mainly of breweries , brandy distilleries and a few brick factories .

In 1897 the rural community was divided into the communities Ohmstede and Eversten. In 1901 the church restructuring of the former rural community into the independent church communities Eversten, Ofen and Ohmstede.
