The state election in Liechtenstein in October 1993 took place on October 24, 1993 and was the regular election of the legislature of the Principality of Liechtenstein. All 25 members of the Landtag of the Principality of Liechtenstein were elected by the people of the country in the two constituencies of the Oberland and Unterland.
The second election in 1993 became necessary because Prime Minister Markus Büchel was asked to resign from his party, the Progressive Citizens' Party, only about a hundred days after he took office. When calling for an administrative post, he passed over a party friend and instead supported the candidate of the Patriotic Union. Büchel defended himself that he not only had to represent his party, but could not prevent him from being removed from office by the state parliament. After the prince's dissolution of parliament, the second election was scheduled for October 1993. The legislative period lasted until February 1997.
