The Wilsun is a former passenger ferry that sailed for many years in the German Wadden Sea . The ferry has been in the Netherlands since 2007.
The ship
The Wilsun was built in 1927 in the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg as Langeoog IV and drove for the shipping of the island community Langeoog between Langeoog and Norddeich . From 1944 to 1945 the ship was equipped with an anti-aircraft gun and served as a hospital ship in April 1945 .
In 1971 the ship was sold to the neighboring island of Spiekeroog and renamed Spiekeroog IV . From then on it continued between Neuharlingersiel and the old pier on Spiekeroog.
In 1980 the ferry was sold and was named Nanja . It was operated as an excursion and fishing ferry from Harlingen . The ferry has had its current name since 2007 and is located in Rotterdam . Since May 2009 the Wilsun has been a permanent disco in the harbor .
Over the years there have been some major modifications to the ship. In 1938 the ferry was extended from 25 m to its current size.
