Lars Thorben Lagerpusch (born March 28, 1998 in Braunschweig ) is a German basketball player . Lagerpusch measures 2.05 meters, he holds the position of the big winger.

career

Lagerpusch played in the youth department of MTV Gifhorn, then SG Braunschweig . His father Frank played basketball in the first and second Bundesliga in the 1980s and promoted him as a youth coach.

In the 2013/14 season he was used for the first time in the men's division and played ten games in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB for SG Braunschweig . In March 2014 he was invited to the “Jordan Brand Classic Camp” in Barcelona with 39 other young players from different European countries . In June 2015 he signed a four-year contract with the Basketball Löwen Braunschweig .

He was in the squad of the Braunschweig first division team in the 2015/16 season, but was primarily used by the MTV Duke Wolfenbüttel in the Pro B, with whom the Braunschweiger cooperates. In addition, Lagerpusch gained match practice in the Braunschweig U19 team in the youth basketball league . He made his debut in the first Bundesliga on December 23, 2015 in the game against Bayern Munich . In December 2019, his move to Science City Jena was announced, which was playing in the ProA at that time .

In summer 2020 he moved within the second division from Jena to the Wiha Panthers Schwenningen .

National team

In the summer of 2014, he took part with the German national team in the European Championship for the under 16s and scored an average of 12.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists in nine appearances during the tournament.

Lagerpusch won the Albert Schweitzer tournament with the German U18 national team in the spring of 2016 . In December 2016 he reached fourth place in the U18 European Championship in Turkey with the selection of the German Basketball Association . At the U19 World Cup 2017 he was used in all seven tournament games and reached fifth place with the German team. Lagerpusch averaged 9.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per game over the course of the tournament. In June 2018 he was appointed to the U20 national team, with which he reached third place at the European Championships at home in Chemnitz , Saxony, in the following month , which was considered the "greatest success for a male youth national team in 35 years". Lagerpusch posted 7.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per game over the course of the tournament.

In May 2019, Lagerpusch was appointed to the A2 national team.
