Lars Ytterbom (born March 15, 1960 ) is a former Swedish football player . The offensive player played a total of four seasons in the Allsvenskan for Gefle IF and Halmstads BK .

Career

Ytterbom comes from the youth of Brynäs IF , for whom he made his adult debut in 1978. After the team's relegation from the second division, they joined forces with the Gefle IF footballers and won the championship in Division 3 Södra Norrland under the name Gefle IF / Brynäs IF without defeat . Two years later, the syndicate was dissolved, Ytterbom stayed with Gefle IF. Now established as a regular, he rose to Allsvenskan in 1982 after two victories over Kalmar FF in the relegation games with the club after almost fifty years in the lower-class league area.

On the side of Mats Olausson , Per Olsson and Arne Skalk Ytterbom played in the first division season 1983 all 22 season games and was thus one of the guarantors of relegation when the season ended in the last non-relegation place. After relegation as bottom of the table in the following season, he moved within the league to Halmstads BK . At the side of Mats Jingblad , Ulf Jönsson , Jan Jönsson and Tommy Frejdh , he was also a regular at his new club and scored five league goals in the 1985 season . After another year in which he had missed the championship finals with the team as fifth only because of the worse goal difference compared to fourth-placed IFK Norrköping , he turned his back on the club.

Ytterbom returned to Gefle IF in early 1987, where he returned to the second division as team captain under coach Lennart Söderberg . Initially regularly in action, he played for the club in the second division until 1992, before ending his active career.
