Coat of arms of the von Lattorff

Lattorff (also: Lattdorf, Latdorf, Latorf, Lattorp, Lathdorpp, Lathdorp, Latorp, Latendorf) is the name of an old Anhalt noble family whose ancestral home is the place Latdorf in the Bernburg district .

history

First mentioned in a document is Conradus de Lattorf , who appears in 1182 as a witness for a property transfer in Nienburg . A line of trunks begins with Kuno von Lattorf (mentioned in 1378; 1396), the secure line of trunks only with the princely-Anhalt councilor Claus von Lattorf (documented 1426–1439). The sex was in 1499 as a fiefdom "the Adilhof" (= Adelshof) and the village Klecken ( Klieken ) with the village stone Becke and all irish inputs and Zubehorungen . At the turn of the 16th century, the von Lattorffs were at the zenith of their power. They provided two commander of the Teutonic Order . Hans von Lattorff was in the office for 42 years until his death in 1571. He was followed by Ernst von Lattorff , who had a somewhat inglorious exit as Commander because he was getting married. At that time, seven lines made up the von Lattorff family, namely in Klieken, Eickendorf (Eichendorff), Dornburg , Quast (enfeoffed in 1475), Großen-Salza, Grochewitz ( Grochwitz ) and Poplitz . In the 16th century, the Lattorffs acquired rich property through lending and purchasing inherited goods.

In the 16th century, six lines extinguished in quick succession. In 1561 there were four lines and in 1587 three lines. Today there are still two lines: Kliecken-Oberhof and Kliecken-Unterhof. They go back to the division of the possessions in Klieken between Siegmund († 1618 or 1619) and Matthias von Lattorff († 1659).

coat of arms

The coat of arms shows in silver a wreath with alternately red and gold tufts of three ears of wheat each, which is wound six times in red and gold. On the helmet with red-silver covers the wreath as in the shield (or only the longitudinal halves of the wreath).
