Philipp Friedrich Lebrecht von Lattorff (born December 28, 1733 in Klieken , Zerbst district ; † July 15, 1808 ibid) was a Prussian lieutenant general , chief of the infantry regiment of the same name and governor of Küstrin .

Philipp was the son of the Prussian captain Johann Dietrich Lebrecht von Lattorff (1702–1763) and his wife Magdalena Sophie, born von Lattorff (* 1699).

Military background

Lattorff first visited the cadet house in Dresden and in 1747 joined the infantry regiment "Prince Heinrich" of the Prussian army as a private corporal . There he was promoted to second lieutenant until the end of September 1755 . During the Seven Years' War Lattorff fought near Lobositz , Reichenbach , Prague , Kolin , Breslau , Leuthen , Kunersdorf and Torgau . He was wounded near Kolin and Kunersdorf. At the siege of Olomouc he received the order Pour le Mérite , but also took part in the sieges of Schweidnitz and Breslau. During the war he was promoted to captain and company commander until mid-December 1762 .

After the war, Lattorff advanced to major in early July 1775 and took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession . On October 2, 1784 he became a lieutenant colonel and on June 15, 1785 battalion commander in the infantry regiment "von Wendessen" . On June 21, 1786 he was transferred to the "von Natalis" garrison regiment. There he became a colonel on May 25, 1787. On May 1, 1788, he was appointed commander of the depot battalion in the "von Woldeck" infantry regiment .

On May 20, 1792 Lattorff was chief of the infantry regiment "von Borke" and at the same time with Ptent from May 27, 1792 major general . He took part in the campaign in Poland in 1794/95 and occupied the city of Radom , which earned him public praise from King Friedrich Wilhelm II . On May 24, 1798, he was appointed lieutenant general. On May 20, 1800, Lattorff was transferred to the Küstrin Fortress as governor, gave up his regiment and received a pension of 1200 thalers. After the lost war of 1806 he was made inactive in 1807, he was not involved in the surrender of the fortress to the French. He died on July 15, 1808 on his Klieken estate.

Lattorff married on August 22, 1756 Elisabeth Marie Henriette Quirin von Forcade (1735–1774), daughter of Lieutenant General Friedrich Wilhelm Quirin von Forcade . After her death, he married Catharine Henriette le Chevenix de Beville (1739-1825) on December 11, 1775. From the first marriage the son Friedrich Wilhelm Heinrich Ludwig Philipp (1772-1836) emerged, who rose to major in the Prussian army. He married Constantine Friederike von Könneritz († 1801) on June 1, 1800 . After their untimely death, he married Friederike Wilhelmine Louise, née Jacobi, widowed von Seidel (1773-1818) on October 17, 1802.
