Laura Lynn (born June 18, 1976 in Ardooie ; real name Sabrina Tack ) is a Belgian pop singer .

biography

Laura Lynn comes from a musical family and her parents and grandparents were already on stage. Among other things, she completed a three-year training course at the Ostend Showbizzschool . She lied about her breakthrough as a singer in 2005 with her first single Je hebt me 1000 maal . The song had been a hit by German pop singer Andrea Berg four years earlier . Laura Lynn reached number two on the Belgian charts and was awarded gold . The debut album Dromen was even more successful, topping the charts for seven weeks in the summer and another six weeks as a bonus version around Christmas 2015. Over 90,000 copies were sold in Belgium. She was also successful in the Netherlands and for South Africa she recorded a version in Afrikaans .

For her second album, which was released less than a year later, Lynn recorded a cover version again : a Dutch version of the hit classic Arrivederci Hans , a 1968 hit for Rita Pavone . But it was the second album release Jij bent de mooiste that brought her her first number one hit in the single charts. The album Voor jou also reached number one again and, like its predecessor, stayed in the top 100 of the ultratop charts for over a year. The third album Goud did not last that long, but brought her two more number one placements together with the single Dans je de hele nacht met mij .

For the fourth album in four years, the Belgian teamed up with the Dutch pop singer Frans Bauer . Her duet album brought her to the top of the album charts for the fourth time and the songs Kom dans met mij and Al duurt de nacht tot morgenvroeg were number one, third and fourth in the singles. Kom dans met mij was also Lynn's second gold single. Despite the cross-border collaboration, the album, like its predecessor in the Netherlands, did not make it into the charts.

This also ended the pop singer's most successful period. The albums In vuur & vlam and Eindeloos fell short of number one in the following two years and did not achieve platinum awards like their predecessors. The double single We dansen de Zumba / Als Laufde vleugels had brought her the last top ten position in the single charts in 2010. In 2011 no new album was released for the first time, but there was a best-of double album together with Frans Bauer, which, in addition to the solo hits of the two, also contained the three most successful songs from the duet album of 2008.

A new duet with Matthias Lens as partner came out at the end of 2011: De kusjesdans is a cover version of a minor hit by Paul Severs from 1985. It became known that Lens, who had previously been half of the accordion duo The Sunsets , was also her partner is. In 2012, Laura Lynn gave birth to their daughter. Shortly thereafter, their seventh studio album, Dat goed gevoel , was released, which reached number 6 in the charts.

The next album, Jij en ik , was released in early October 2014. Although it brought her the ninth top ten position in the album charts in a row, it was the first album that did not make it into the single charts. The title song, the Dutch version of Breathless Through the Night by Helene Fischer - the hit of the year in Germany and Austria - did not make it into the charts.
