Laurie Taitt
Laurie Taitt (actually John Lawrence Taitt; born March 28, 1934 in Georgetown , Guyana , † October 18, 2006 in the London Borough of Croydon ) was a British hurdler who specialized in the 110-meter distance .
At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff in 1958 , Guyana reached the semi-finals , starting over 120 yard hurdles.
In 1962 he reached the semi-finals at the European Athletics Championships in Belgrade over 110 m hurdles. At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Perth , he won bronze for England over the 120 yard hurdles.
At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, he failed over 110 m hurdles in the preliminary run.
In 1966 he finished fifth over 120 yard hurdles at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston . At the European Championships in Budapest he was eliminated from the 110 m hurdles in the semifinals.
In 1963 and 1965 he was English champion over 120 yard hurdles and in 1963 English indoor champion over 60 yard hurdles.
