Laut-Los is the first unplugged album by Austrian pop rock singer Christina Stürmer . This album consists of already known songs as well as five new songs in unplugged versions recorded in the studio. The long player was released on April 4, 2008 simultaneously in Austria, Germany and Switzerland.
background
After the album, Lebe Lauter , released in 2006 , was very successful and sold around 250,000 times, Christina Stürmer decided to have an unplugged album produced after 4 studio albums and a live album. At the end of 2007 she went on an unplugged tour in various hard rock cafés in Germany for the first time . The tour served as the occasion of a charitable campaign against breast cancer. Under the title Rocktober , the band gave concerts in Cologne, Munich and Berlin.
“ The Hard Rock Cafe approached my management some time ago and they, in turn, suggested the whole campaign to me and there was actually no long thought about whether to support it or not. Because, I think breast cancer, as you can see with Anastacia or Kylie Minogue, can really hit anyone and I think that's a great action, so you just have to support them. "
At the same time in Austria, on November 16, 2007, she released the first unplugged heralds for the new album Mitten unterm Jahr , a song that was already on the album Lebe louder . The first dates for the official Laut-Los tour in Austria and Germany were then published. The Austrian Football Association also announced that Christina Stürmer should sing the official anthem for the 2008 European Football Championship .
At the beginning of the following year, Stürmer changed the management team and went to Frontline Artists , who presented them in a new guise (including on the official homepage). In February 2008, the record company also confirmed that there were five new songs on the album. The songs Orchestra in me , Optimist and Never too late were named next to the second harbinger of dreams live forever and the EM song Fever as completely new songs.
music
Musically, a new side in Stürmer's genre range is offered. Instead of the usual pop and rock songs, the tracks were recorded as swing and country songs. The band took on new elements such as rattles, acoustic guitar and accordion. The band was inspired by the country group Dixie Chicks for the instrumentation of the song “ moment a day ”. In addition, the actual rock song Go Not When You Come (originally from the album Freier Fall ) relied on jazz elements.
The new songs, which should offer a preview of the next studio album, have also been wrapped in an acoustic guise. The song Dreams Live Forever is a ballad in which the acoustic guitar and the accordion in connection with their voice play a major role. Thematically, Stürmer continues the style of their last album, which is also the case with the tracks Glücklich and Optimist . Orchestra in me , another previously unpublished song, is - as the name suggests - influenced by orchestral elements like piano and violin.

reception
Reviews
The album was largely received positively by many music critics, especially the change in style by Stürmer appeared as an innovation. For example, the journalist Georg Leyrer writes in the Austrian daily Kurier :
“[…] Stürmer sang perfectly and with the necessary feeling, the living room setting of the tour is funny and the band was also able to convince with the unfamiliar sound. Just like on the album: there are five new songs on loud-go , but actually more exciting to hear are the old ones, which are now presented in a new musical guise. Angels fly lonely with walking bass and brass sections, I live as a campfire number - Stürmer wanted to 'make old songs interesting again', and that was quite successful on Laut-Los . Not only because there are many well-known numbers on it, Laut-Los is more of an intermediate album. We can look forward to the next "plugged in" studio long player Stürmer. "
The album is also rated positively by the e-zine laut.de :
“[...] Laut-Los is a very charming way to pass the time waiting. An inventory and snapshot that shows the eternal casting leaders once again that Christina Stürmer and band are young artists to be taken seriously. Ability, commitment and enthusiasm clearly dominate on Laut-Los - with her success that has been going on for several years, it should be clear now that the Austrian is not just a briefly glowing star. "
success
In Austria, the day before the release, the album was awarded platinum for 20,000 copies of the long player delivered. Two weeks after its release, the album went from 0 to 1 (like 3 of their albums before) entered the Austrian charts. In Germany, however, the success of its predecessor Lebe Lauter , which made it to number 1, could not be repeated. It was similar in Switzerland, where the album debuted at number 13.
tour
After the concerts in Hard Rock Cafés in 2007, Christina Stürmer went on an unplugged tour through Austria, Germany and South Tyrol for the second time in spring 2008. This time, Stürmer did not choose concert halls, but clubs with a living room atmosphere. Before the tour began, she gave a promotional concert in the Vienna Volkstheater , for which the hall was full. In addition to musical demonstrations, her program also included stories from recording sessions and everyday touring with her band. This was followed by the first official appearance on the Laut-Los tour in the Oberwaltersdorf bed spring factory in Lower Austria.
The second part of the tour included the Germany appearances, u. a. in the Nuremberg Meistersingerhalle, in the Berlin Admiralspalast or in the Graf-Zeppelin-Haus in Friedrichshafen. A novelty in Stürmer's career so far took place in Berlin: on May 4, 2008, a concert was given for the first time, which could also be followed live on Christina Stürmer's official website. A total of around 3500 viewers were measured via the Internet. This was seen as a success on the part of Christina Stürmer. On May 14th, 2008 the first unplugged concert took place in Italy, the tour stopped in the city hall of Bolzano . This concludes the tour at the same time.
