Lavers Hill is a small town in Victoria , Australia located 30 miles from Port Campbell and Apollo Bay and 205 miles from Melbourne . The village is located northwest of Cape Otway on the touristically important Great Ocean Road between Port Campbell and Apollo Bay and forms another intersection of roads that lead to Cobden and Colac . In 2016, 78 resident residents were counted in Lavers Hill .

The name Lavers Hill comes from a Gippsland settler who cleared large areas around what is now Lavers Hill .
The area around Lavers Hill was explored in 1891 and then used by the timber industry for many years. The first sawmill was built in 1900, followed by others. In 1906 a school and cheese factory were built and a railroad reached the area in 1912. The town developed and a post office , a hotel was built, farmers settled and shops were established.

Today there is a small commercial center in Lavers Hill , which provides a café, a bakery, a pub with a bistro and tourist information for tourists . Tourism is the main source of income for the place.
The site is located on the highest point of the Great Ocean Road , where there are views of the surrounding nature of the Otway Ranges . Not far from Lavers Hill are the Triplet Falls , Hopetoun Falls and Beauchamp Falls . The Great Otway National Park with its rainforests surrounds parts of the village. There is also the Otway Fly hiking trail , on which there is a 45 meter high observation tower.
The surfing beach Johanna Beach is twelve kilometers from Lavers Hill . At Glenaire there are productive fishing grounds and there are opportunities for surfing.
