Lawrence Bender

Lawrence Bender (born October 17, 1957 in the Bronx , New York City ) is an American film producer and co-founder of the production company A Band Apart , together with director Quentin Tarantino .

Life

Bender became known to the general public as a producer of such films as Reservoir Dogs , Pulp Fiction , and Good Will Hunting . He has his own production company in Hollywood , California called Lawrence Bender Productions .

In addition, Bender had several small cameo appearances in films that he himself produced, such as For example, the cop trying to capture Mr. Pink in Reservoir Dogs , a customer in the Pulp Fiction restaurant scene , a hotel secretary in Kill Bill, Volume 2, and a long-haired yuppie in Four Rooms . In the film Safe , he can be seen towards the end of the film as a bartender who hands the main actor played by Jason Statham a fork, with which he stabs a Russian mafioso.

Since May 2005, Bender has been a regular contributor to The Huffington Post's blog .

For Pulp Fiction , Bender was recognized in the 1995 Independent Spirit Awards in the Best Feature category. He was also nominated for an Oscar .

Since 2013, Bender, who is a former ballet dancer, has been developing a dark drama series about ballet as a producer together with screenwriter Moira Walley-Beckett for the cable channel Starz Flesh and Bone .

Among other things, Bender is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations .
