Le Hochet is a place ("Village") in the north of Mauritius . It is part of the Pamplemousses district and administratively belongs to the Village Council Area (VCA) Le Hochet. At the 2011 census, the place had 15,034 inhabitants.

The origin of the name of the place is unclear. The area of ​​the place belonged to a plantation of Léonce Hily. From 1860 this plantation was closed and sold in individual plots. Today Le Hochet is a suburb of Port Louis . The largest employer in town is Dhanush Stone Products, founded in 1954 .
