Calebasses is a place ("Village") in the north of Mauritius . It is part of the Pamplemousses district and administratively belongs to the Village Council Area (VCA) Calebasses. At the 2011 census, the place had 4816 inhabitants.

The place is on the Tombeau River . The A4 highway from Calebasses to Pamplemousses crosses the river via the Pont Mailard bridge, built in 1865. Just across the bridge is Droopnath Ramphul State College, founded in 1977.

In the village there is the Masjid Calebasses mosque and several Hindu temples from 1914. In 1991 a swimming pool with a 25-meter pool was opened. In 1888 the sisters of the Congrégation des Filles de Marie built a hospital in Calebasses. Today it is owned by the ONG, a Hindu charitable organization, and is used as a retirement home with 140 places. In 1942, the small farmers founded the local credit union.
