occupation

Le juge is a French-Italian spaghetti western that was not shown in the German-speaking area. Richard Owens is named as the director , a common pseudonym for Jean Girault and Federico Chentrens .

action

Rocco Pedace has settled in a small western town where he runs a saloon in which very personal wishes are fulfilled. One day, when gold is stolen from a stagecoach robbery nearby, Rocco hides his granddaughter Cat, who got the loot in a roundabout way. In search of Cat, a Sicilian mafioso comes to town as a bounty hunter; soon he is playing a game of poker with Rocco for their rule. Rocco has to leave town; the victor prepares the gallows for the cat found. In a showdown, the returned Rocco can kill the Mafioso and can then also prevent Cat from fleeing with her friend Buck and the gold.

criticism

"Segnalazione Cinematografiche 72" wrote a western with parodic intentions, but sloppily staged and poor in real humor .

Remarks

The film is based on the Lucky Luke comic The Judge , which is about the self-appointed judge Roy Bean . Comic hero Lucky Luke himself does not appear in the film.

Well-known films about Roy Bean are The Westerner (1940) and That Was Roy Bean (1972).

The title song is sung by the main actor and film composer Pierre Perret . The Italian title is All'Ovest di Sacramento .

No proof of performance can be found for the title The Law in the West of Pecos , which is specified in some places .
