Leandro Otormín , full name Leandro Gastón Otormín Fumero , (born July 30, 1996 in Paso de los Toros ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

Otormín comes from the city of Paso de los Toros in central Uruguay. His father died when Leandro Otormín was one and a half years. In the following years he grew up alone with his mother and two older sisters. In the youth field, he played for the Uruguayan first division club Nacional Montevideo since at least 2013 . The 1.76-meter-tall offensive player was in the squad of the first division team in the 2014/15 season, which was Uruguayan champions that season. However, he did not receive operating times in competitive games of the first team. He made his debut in the Primera División under coach Gustavo Munúa on August 15, 2015 in a 4-1 home win against Villa Teresa , when he came on for Leandro Barcia in the 74th minute . For the "Bolsos" he made a total of five first division appearances in the Apertura 2015 (no goal). He also played three games (no goal) in the 2015 Copa Sudamericana . At the end of January 2016, he was loaned to Racing Club de Montevideo for the subsequent half series within the city and the league . In the 2016 Clausura he played eight first division matches (one goal) for the loan club. A loan deal with Venados FC followed in July 2016 . For the Mexicans he has played in five league games (no goal) and three games (no goal) of the Copa México (as of March 4, 2017) .

Otormín was a member of Uruguay's U-15. He made his debut on August 24, 2013 in the 2-4 defeat in the friendly international game against Mexico under coach Fabián Coito in the Uruguayan U-17 team . He participated with the selection at the U-17 World Cup in 2013 in the United Arab Emirates. In the course of the tournament he scored a total of four hits in five appearances. Earlier, Otormín had already played five international matches and scored three goals. In March 2014, he took part in the Uruguayan U-20 national team 's course, led by Coito . There he was used for the first time on April 17, 2014 at the latest in the 1-1 draw against Chile as a member of the starting line-up.

He was considered in a preselection made by Fabián Coito's coaching staff for the players who might be nominated for the Uruguayan U-22 squad at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto . However, he is missing from the preliminary roster announced on May 19, 2015.
