The Lehniner Mittelheide nature reserve and headwaters of the Emster are located in the municipality of Kloster Lehnin in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district in Brandenburg .

The area with the identification number 1509 was placed under nature protection by ordinance of May 21, 1996 . The approximately 640 hectare nature reserve with the Mühlenteich , the Mittelsee and the Emstaler hose extends north of Rädel , a district of the municipality of Kloster Lehnin. The A 2 runs to the north and the L 86 state road on the north-western edge . The L 88 runs through the area and the Gohlitzsee extends over the western edge .
