Leitenhausen is a district of the Langquaid market in the Lower Bavarian district of Kelheim . Until 1978 it formed an independent municipality.

Leitenhausen is located in the Hallertau on the Große Laber about two kilometers southwest of Langquaid.

history

Finds from the time of linear ceramics point to the early settlement of the area. The church of Leitenhausen was built in the 13th century. The community of Leitenhausen, founded in 1818 with the Bavarian community edict, with the places Leitenhausen, Bärnpoint, Günzenhofen, Hagenach, Kitzenhofen and Schicka (Mühle), initially belonged to the Pfaffenberg district court , which was renamed Mallersdorf in 1840 . With the formation of the district offices in 1862 it came to the district office of Rottenburg, from which the district of Rottenburg an der Laaber emerged in 1939 . On January 1, 1978, the municipality of Leitenhausen was incorporated into the Langquaid market as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .

The village consists mainly of private houses and a few farms that cultivate the land in the area. Today Leitenhausen has almost grown together with Langquaid.

Attractions

  • Filial church of St. Agatha. The choir tower from the 13th century was changed to Baroque style in the 18th century, including the tower. The figure of St. Kolomann from 1470 used to adorn the altar of the Kolomann chapel, as did a votive picture from 1800.
  • Chapel of St. Koloman. The pilgrimage chapel, located a little north of Leitenhausen high above the Labertal, dates from the 18th century.
