Lengenrieden is a district of Boxberg in the Main-Tauber district in the Franconian and Baden region of northeast Baden-Württemberg .

Lengenrieden is a loosely built cluster village in the middle Schüpfbachtal , a side valley of the Umpfer . Apart from the village of Lengenrieden ( ⊙ ), there is no other residential space in the former municipality of Lengenrieden .

history

middle Ages

The place was first mentioned in 1343 as Lengenriet . This indicates either a long reed or long cleared areas . Possibly the place emerged as a high medieval settlement. The story is always connected with that of Kupprichhausen and the place, like this one, was part of the Schüpf rule since the late Middle Ages, but Würzburg and not Mainz fiefs.

Modern times

On January 1, 1973, Lengenrieden was incorporated into the town of Boxberg together with Angeltürn , Bobstadt, Epplingen, Schwabhausen, Uiffingen and Windischbuch .

Together with Ober- and Unterschüpf, Lengenrieden forms the Protestant parish of Schüpfer Grund . Almost a third of the residents of Lengenrieden belong to the Protestant parish, which also includes the Kupprichhausen diaspora parish with around 20 parish members.
