Leon Valley is a city in Bexar County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

The city is located on Highway 16 in south-central Texas, as an enclave in the urban area of San Antonio in the northwest of the county and has a total area of 8.8 km² without any significant water surface.

According to the 2000 census, 9,239 people in 3,576 households and 2,521 families lived here. The population density was 1,046.1 people per km². The racial the population was composed of 78.07% White, 2.77% African American, 0.67% Native American, 1.95% Asian, 0.15% Pacific Islander, and 13.19% other ethnic groups. About 3.19% were mixed race and 44.65% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 3,576 households, 29.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 56.0% of these were married couples living together. 11.0% were single mothers and 29.5% were non-families. 24.8% of all households were single households and 8.3% had people living in it who were 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size was 3.07.
23.4% of the population were under 18 years old, 9.0% 18 to 24, 28.1% 25 to 44, 26.0% 45 to 64, and 13.5% who were 65 years of age or older . The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females of all age groups, there were 94.9 males. For every 100 women aged 18 and over there were 90.3 men.
The median income for a household in the city is $ 49,079 , and the median income for a family is $ 56,543. Males had a median income of $ 32,917 versus $ 28,700 for females.
