Leonardo Fabbri (born April 15, 1997 in Bagno a Ripoli ) is an Italian shot putter .

Athletic career

Leonardo Fabbri gained his first international experience in 2013 at the World Youth Championships in Donetsk , where he was eliminated from the qualification with a width of 17.14 m. He then won the bronze medal at the European Olympic Sports Festival in Utrecht with 17.76 m. The following year he took part in the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing , where he finished seventh with 18.96 m. In 2015 he reached the final in the discus throw at the European Junior Championships in Eskilstuna , where he finished eleventh with 55.45 m. The following year he retired at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz with 16.39 m and 52.09 m in qualification. In 2017 he finished seventh in the shot put at the U23 European Championships there with 19.12 m. In 2018 he won the U23 Mediterranean Championships in Jesolo with 19.40 m and was twelfth at the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona with 17.72 m, before he was eliminated from the qualification at the European Championships in Berlin with 18.04 m. The following year he retired at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow with 19.71 m in qualification and won the silver medal at the U23 European Championships in Gävle with 20.50 m. In addition, he qualified for the first time for the World Championships in Doha , where he did not reach the final with 20.75 m .

In 2019 , Fabbri became the Italian champion in the shot put outdoors and from 2018 to 2020 also indoors.
