Osman Can Özdeveci (born August 23, 1995 in Selçuklu ) is a Turkish shot putter .

Athletic career

Osman Can Özdeveci gained his first international experience in 2011 at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Trabzon , where he reached twelfth place in the shot put with 16.57 m and ninth place in the discus throw with 50.93 m. Two years later he took part in the shot put at the Junior European Championships in Rieti , but was eliminated there with 17.32 m in qualification. In 2014 he finished sixth at the U23 Mediterranean Championships in Aubagne with 17.18 m and fifth at the Junior World Championships in Eugene with 19.58 m. The following year he retired from the U23 European Championships in Tallinn with 17.65 m in qualification and in 2017 he won the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku with 19.83 m. He then finished fourth at the U23 European Championships in Bydgoszcz with 19.63 m and came ninth at the Summer Universiade in Taipei with 18.52 m.

In 2018 he took part in the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona for the first time and finished fifth there with a width of 19.58 m. He then retired at the European Championships in Berlin with 18.77 m in qualification. The following year he retired at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow with 19.13 m in qualification and at the Student World Games in Naples he failed a valid attempt.

In 2018 and 2019 Özdeveci was the Turkish champion in the shot put outdoors and in 2019 also indoors.
