Leonie Elisabeth Doege (born February 20, 1999 in Düsseldorf ) is a German soccer goalkeeper .

Career

societies

Doege played for Bayer 04 Leverkusen's B-Juniors in the Bundesliga West / Southwest from 2014 and also had a second play right for the B-Juniors of SSV Berghausen until summer 2015. For the 2015/16 season she moved up to the squad of the first team, but remained behind regular goalkeeper Anna Klink this season without being in the Bundesliga. On May 21, 2017 (22nd matchday), she celebrated her Bundesliga debut in the 3-1 home defeat against SC Freiburg for the Leverkusen women, who were already relegated at the time. At the end of the 2016/17 season , she left the club to study at Butler University in the United States .

National team

Doege made her debut in the national jersey on September 4, 2014, when she guarded the goal for the entire season in the 4-3 win of the U-16 national team against Denmark. In the summer of 2015, she took part with the team in the Nordic Cup in Denmark and played two games - including the final, which was lost 2-0 against the Netherlands. With the U-17 national team , she qualified for the European Championship in Belarus the following year and played there in all five tournament games over the full season. In the final, she saved two penalties on penalties against the Spanish selection and thus played a significant role in the German title win. At the U-17 World Cup in Jordan that same year , she was part of the 21-strong German squad and reached the quarter-finals with the team, where Spain, however, had to admit defeat 1: 2. In 2017, the goalkeeper was part of the extended squad of the U-19 national team and made her debut for this national team on March 7 in a 3-0 win over Scotland.
