Leopold Höhnen

Leopold Höhnen (born July 16, 1870 in Barmen ; † October 3, 1941 in Baden-Baden ) was a German administrative lawyer and politician ( DVP ).

Life

After studying law, which he completed with a doctorate , he was employed as a court trainee in 1894, as a court assessor in 1898 and as a government assessor with the government in Wroclaw . He went to Frankfurt (Oder) in 1901 and to Allenstein in 1905 , where he became a member of the government the following year. In 1919 he became director of the Allenstein Administrative Court, then senior councilor and representative of the district president. From 1919 to 1920 he was a city councilor in Allenstein and, as a member of the German People's Party , was a member of the provincial parliament of the province of East Prussia . After the expulsion of the District President Matthias von Oppen from the Olsztyn voting area , he was commissioned by the Allies to lead the regional council for the period of the vote. He was then transferred to the Stralsund administrative district .

In 1922 he became provisional, and in 1923 officially regional president of the administrative district of Stettin . In 1921 and 1925 he was elected to the Provincial Parliament of the Pomerania Province on the DVP list and was a member of the 50th to 55th Provincial Parliament. He was also elected to the provincial committee. In 1927 he was transferred to the Hildesheim administrative district as regional president . On March 25, 1933, he was put into temporary retirement with immediate effect.

Private

Leopold Höhnen was the father of a daughter, Elinor Hubert , who, as an SPD politician, became a member of the German Bundestag from 1949 to 1969 .
