Leopold Skulski (* 15. November 1877 in Zamosc , † probably 1939 / 1940 in Brest ) was a Polish chemist , politician and Prime Minister .

Skulski studied at the TH Karlsruhe until 1906 and settled in Łódź after completing his studies . He worked in the gymnastics club Sokół and in 1915 founded the National Association (Zjednoczenie Narodowe) in Łódz, a group that was politically close to the endecja and in 1916 became a member of the Międzypartyjne Koło Polityczne (Interparty Political Circle).

In January 1917 he was elected to the city council of the city of Łódź and appointed second mayor, later first mayor and then mayor.

In 1919 he became a member of the constituent national assembly and between December 13, 1919 and July 9, 1920 Prime Minister of Poland. From July 24, 1920 to June 28, 1921 he was Minister of the Interior in the government of Wincenty Witos , and in 1925 a member of the state tribunal . He was one of the founders of Polskie Radio AG and in the 1930s its board member (until 1936). After the outbreak of war he fled to Pińsk , where he was interned by the Soviets invading from the east, handed over to the NKVD and transferred to Brest . He was likely murdered by Soviet power between 1939 and 1940.
