Leopold Wilhelm of Baden-Baden

Margrave Leopold Wilhelm von Baden (born September 16, 1626 ; † March 1, 1671 in Baden-Baden ) was Imperial Field Marshal .

He is the second son of Margrave Wilhelm von Baden and Katharina Ursula von Hohenzollern-Hechingen .

He was Reich Field Marshal General , in Pomerania he fought against the Swedes , in Hungary he fought against the Turks . He was governor of Varasdin in Croatia .

Marriages and offspring

Leopold Wilhelm von Baden's first marriage was in 1659 with Anna Silvia Caretto , Countess von Millesimo (* 1607; † February 26, 1664). The marriage remained childless. Through this marriage, the margravate of Baden acquired extensive estates in Bohemia .

The second marriage of Leopold Wilhelm von Baden was on February 23, 1666 with Countess Maria Franziska von Fürstenberg-Heiligenberg (* May 18, 1633 - March 7, 1702), the daughter of Count Ernst Egon VIII von Fürstenberg-Heiligenberg . The following children were born from the marriage:

Leopold Wilhelm was an uncle of the Margrave Ludwig Wilhelm of Baden-Baden , known as the Türkenlouis.
