Leovigildo López Fitoria

Leovigildo López Fitoria CM (born June 7, 1927 in Boaco , † August 5, 2016 in Daría , Granada Department ) was a Nicaraguan religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Granada .

Life

Leovigildo López Fitoria joined the Order of the Lazarists and was ordained a priest on July 11, 1954 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Granada on July 7, 1972 . The Apostolic Nuncio in Honduras and Nicaragua , Archbishop Lorenzo Antonetti , donated him episcopal ordination on October 7 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were José Eduardo Alvarez Ramírez CM, Bishop of San Miguel , and Manuel Salazar y Espinoza , Auxiliary Bishop in León en Nicaragua .

On December 15, 2003, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
