Wieland Meinhold (born January 22, 1961 in Halle (Saale) ) is a German organist and composer .

Live and act

Wieland Meinhold received his musical training and studies in Jena , Weimar , Berlin and Budapest . (Courses with Lionel Rogg , Ewald Kooiman , Gaston Litaize ). Between 1985 and 1989 he was an aspirant and lecturer at the Hochschule für Musik Weimar . From 1983 to 2001 he was city organist at the Marienkirche in Mühlhausen , where he led the international concert series. From 1998 onwards he held temporary visiting professorships abroad. In 1999 the doctorate to Dr. phil. In December 2002 he was awarded the honorary title "University Organist" by the Erfurt University in a certificate.

Concert tours and appearances as an organist and harpsichordist have taken him to 41 countries around the world.

So far 18 CD productions have been made. Work for radio, film and television stations in various countries, his own compositions for the organ , commitment to new music and repeated world premieres round off his field of activity. Since 2010, he has also been actively concentrating on gymnastics and aerial artistry .

His father is the Jena university professor and writer Gottfried Meinhold .

Wieland Meinhold is married to the soprano Mirjam Meinhold (opera ensemble Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar ). Together they form the Duo Vimaris .
