Walter Klingner

Walter Klingner (* 1961 in Gotha ) is a German oboist and English horn player .

Life

Klingner studied oboe with Axel Schmidt at the Liszt School of Music Weimar . Today he is a lecturer there.

Since 1986 he has been principal cor anglais with the MDR Symphony Orchestra . He is also a guest player at the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra , the Bach Orchestra Stuttgart , at the Berlin Philharmonic and the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra .

Numerous compositions were premiered by him , including by Gerd Domhardt . He recorded compositions by Felix Draeseke , Carlo Yvon and Elliott Carter with Frank Peter . Klingner is a member of the Leipzig Chamber Symphony and the Sortisatio ensemble .
