The East Timorese Lequinamo ( Portuguese Ribeira Lequinamo ) is a river in the north of Timor in the administrative office of Laga ( municipality of Baucau ). Outside of the rainy season, like most others in the north of the country, the river falls dry.

course

The Lequinamo rises in the border area between the Sucos Tequinaumata in the west and Libagua in the east. The river follows the border to the north. At the border between Libagua and the neighboring Suco Soba , the Assarini flows into the Lequinamo. The Assarini rises in the border area between Libagua and Samalari , crosses Libagua to the west and then follows the border with Soba to its confluence with the Lequinamo. The Lequinamo further flows along the border between Soba and Tequinaumata to the northwest until the place Laga in the Wetar Strait opens.
