history

Between 1979 and 1981, 205 families from Quelicai, Quelicai (Afaçá) , Afaçá, Guruça , Abafala , Uaitame and Bualale were forcibly resettled by the Indonesian occupying forces via the camp in Quelicai to the newly built settlement of Mulia. It was feared that the old villages, which were close to the forests, might support the FALINTIL. The houses there were burned down after the eviction, the fields destroyed and the cattle killed. Several residents were injured. The inhabitants were brought to Mulia on trucks under heavy guard. After the Indonesians left in 1999, there was a dispute between the indigenous population and the people from Uaitame over rice-growing areas. There was no administrative solution to the problem.

In the elections of 2004/2005 was Abílio D. Ximenes elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections , Julião Ximenes won and in 2016 Cipriano Arlindo Ximenes won .
