Saelari is an East Timorese place, Aldeia and Suco in the administrative office of Laga ( municipality of Baucau ).

The place Saelari is located in the north of the Sucos, at an altitude of 382 m . Here is the primary school of sucos, the Escola Primaria Catolica Saelari .

2439 inhabitants live in Saelari (2015), of which 1244 are men and 1195 women. The population density is 79.6 inhabitants / km². There are 382 households in the Suco. About 95% of the population name Makasae as their mother tongue. The remaining 5% speak Tetum Prasa .
Before the 2015 regional reform, Saelari had an area of 17.78 km². Now it is 30.65 km². The Suco is to the east of the Laga administrative office. To the northwest is the Suco Samalari and south of the Suco Sagadate . In the east, Saelari borders the municipality of Lautém with the Sucos Ililai ( Lautém administrative office ) and Afabubu ( Luro administrative office ). The Liqueliu , a tributary of the Dasidara, flows along the border with Afabubu .
All larger towns are in the northwest of the Sucos. The largest is Saelari. Other villages are Riadae , Bubuloma ( Buboloma ), Samalolo ( Samalalu , Samalalo ), Lau Hare , Terobala and Lari-Ledana ( Lariledana ).
In the Suco there are the nine Aldeias Bubuloma , Lari-Ledana , Lari Sula , Lari Tau , Lau Hare , Riadae , Saelari , Samalolo and Terubala .
history
At the end of 1979 there was an Indonesian camp in Saelari for East Timorese who should be relocated by the occupiers for better control.
politics
In the 2004/2005 elections , Francisco Ximenes was elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections , Mateus Cardoso won and was confirmed in office in 2016 .
