Lerbäck is a village ( Småort ) in the Swedish province of Örebro län , which is in the northeast of the municipality of Askersund .
Geography and history
Lerbäck is located in central Sweden in the south of the Örebro Lan province about ten kilometers northeast of Askersund , the capital of the municipality of the same name.
In the course of the municipal reform of 1862 with the introduction of the first Swedish municipal code, Lerbäck became the seat of a municipality of the same name . This was reformed in the course of the modernization of the municipal administrative structure between 1952 and 1971 and ultimately dissolved with the transition to the municipality of Askersund.

The no longer serviced train station in the village is on the railway line between Hallsberg and Mjölby , and the place was the terminus of the narrow-gauge railway line Askersund – Skyllberg – Lerbäck .
Reichsstraße 50, also called Bergslag diagonalen , leads past the village.

Like the surrounding villages, Lerbäck is characterized by the metallurgy and timber industry.
Lerbäck parish
The parish of the same name , which today includes the villages of Åsbro , Rönneshytta , Mariedamm and Skyllberg , belonged to the pastorate located in Snavlunda until 1595 , before it was the seat of its own pastorate until 1962.
Lerbäcks kyrka , built between 1783 and 1876 on the site of a church that had previously burned down, is located just outside the village in a north-easterly direction. It was temporarily the seat of the regional mountain court .
