Leslie Browne

Leslie Browne (born June 29, 1957 in New York City , New York ) is an American ballet dancer and film actress who was nominated for both an Oscar for best supporting actress and the Golden Globe Award for best supporting role for her debut film At Turning Point .

biography

The daughter of the dancer and actor Kelly Browne studied drama at the renowned actor training institute HB Studio in Greenwich Village in New York City and then worked as a ballerina at the American Ballet Theater from 1976 to 1993 .

In 1977 she played her first film role as "Emilia Rodgers" in the film At the turning point of her godfather, the choreographer and film director Herbert Ross , and was nominated for the Oscar for best supporting actress at the 1978 Academy Awards. In addition, she was also nominated for the Golden Globe Award for best supporting role in 1978 .

After an appearance in an episode of the television series Happy Days (1978), she then played in two other dance films directed by Herbert Ross, namely in Nijinsky (1980) and Giselle - Dancers (1987).

Her brother is television producer Kevin Kelly Browne .
