Lewis Burton (born March 23, 1992 in Sidcup ) is a British tennis player from England .

Career

Burton played about 100 matches on the ITF June Tour until 2010. His greatest success on this was getting into the final at the Grand Slam tournament in Wimbledon in doubles. He lost the final against Liam Broady and Tom Farquharson on the side of George Morgan . He achieved his best placement with rank 172 in the junior ranking list.

From 2010 he also took part in professional tournaments, especially the ITF Future Tour . By 2011 he had already won four futures in doubles and at the end of the year was 518th in the world and 654th in singles. In singles, he played his only match on the ATP Challenger Tour in Istanbul in 2012 , where he achieved his career best with rank 626 in March of that year. He won no future title in singles. In doubles, he had a total of 26 titles, most of which fell in 2013, where he won 8 titles. In 2014, Burton was in the final of the Challenger in Charlottesville , where he lost with his regular partner Marcus Willis . In November 2014, he also achieved his highest ranking in doubles with place 218. For his only appearance at a Grand Slam tournament, he came in 2012 at Wimbledon , where he fought his way through the qualification and failed in the main draw to Steve Darcis and Olivier Rochus .
