The Lexus HS is a mid-range hybrid model from the Japanese car manufacturer Lexus . It was presented at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January 2009 and has been on sale in the Japanese market since July 2009. In the United States , the vehicle went on sale in August 2009, but Lexus took it off the market in January 2012 due to insufficient demand. In January 2013, the sedan was given a facelift. In 2018 Lexus ceased production of the vehicle without replacement.
The HS is based on the third generation of the Toyota Avensis . The Toyota SAI is a sister model with which the HS shares the platform and the hybrid powertrain.
The sedan is equipped with a 4-cylinder engine working according to the Atkinson cycle , which leads to a system output of 139 kW (187 hp). The HS accelerates to 100 km / h in 8.4 seconds and is electronically braked at 180 km / h. The vehicle's c w value is 0.27.
The HS protects the environment not only through its hybrid technology. A third of the plastics used are also made from biologically recycled material.
