The Lexus RC is a car model from the Japanese car manufacturer Lexus , which has been produced since 2014 and sold in Germany since January 2015. It is a 2 + 2 seater with rear-wheel drive , which has the brand-typical diabolo grill on the front .
The top model of the series is the Lexus RC F with a 351 kW (477 hp) five-liter V8 gasoline engine, which is also installed in the Lexus IS-F . The RC F is praised by the trade press as the old-school sports coupé , but at the same time criticized for its comparatively high weight. Other drive options include a four-cylinder turbo engine , a four-cylinder hybrid and a 3.5-liter V6, which is only available in the USA and Russia. In Germany only the hybrid "RC 300h" and the "RC F" are sold, the base price for the "RC 300h" is 48,400 euros. All engines drive the rear wheels via an automatic transmission .
At the Paris Motor Show in October 2018, Lexus presented a revised version of the RC.

Racing
Super GT
The Lexus RC drove as the base vehicle in the Japanese Super GT series from 2014 to 2016 . The vehicles used there are technically closely related to DTM racing cars and use among others the same CFK - monocoque . In contrast to this, a four-cylinder turbo engine with around 500 hp is used in the Super GT series. In the 2017 season, however, Lexus will start with a new racing car based on the Lexus LC .
GT3
The Lexus RC is also used in the GT3 group and is the first Lexus customer sports vehicle there. The Lexus RC F GT3 is much closer to the production vehicle than its counterpart in the Super GT. As in the series, a naturally aspirated V8 engine is installed, but with more displacement and power.
