When Lexus TS-650 is a one-off production of Vercarmodel Saro Srl , which on behalf of Toyota Motorsport GmbH based on the LS 460 L was born. The premiere took place on November 30, 2012 at the 45th Essen Motor Show . Series production of the model is only intended to start after a minimum number of inquiries have been received. According to a statement by Yoshiaki Kinoshita, the large-scale production for the European markets has already been approved by the relevant authorities. The TS-650 is also considered to be the first Lexus brand concept vehicle to be manufactured in Europe.

Toyota believes that the model presentation has successfully launched a direct attack on BMW M and Mercedes-AMG . The establishment of a comparable performance brand specializing in Lexus models has meanwhile been announced.

The TS-650 has a V8 engine with a displacement of 4,968 cm³. The output is 478 kW. The max. Torque is specified at 710 Nm at 9000 rpm. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h was determined to be 4.2 s and the top speed to a full 320 km / h. Two different tire sizes are used: 292/35 R20 (front) and 345/30 R20 (rear). Toyota used the Michelin Pilot Sport tires for its prototype. In order to achieve a better braking effect, a carbon ceramic brake system from the manufacturer Brembo was used.
