The Lexus IS-F is a sports sedan from Lexus . The IS-F belongs to the IS model series. The suffix F stands for Fuji Speedway . The IS-F was tested and developed on the Fuji Speedway and at the Nürburgring . The IS-F is the first vehicle from Lexus' F-segment .
The IS-F was offered for sale in the USA in early 2008, and sales in Europe began in mid-2008. The main market for the IS-F is North America. The IS-F manages the sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.6 seconds in the selected sport mode . The electronic limitation for the top speed intervenes at 270 km / h. The IS-F is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 petrol engine (2UR-GSE) with 311 kW and 505 Nm of torque. The engine is operating with a double VVT-I - and VVT-iE - camshaft adjustment . Injection takes place on the one hand directly with the D-4S system, via TCCS control , on the other hand via an additional intake manifold injection so that 16 injection nozzles are active at full load.
transmission
The eight-speed automatic converter direct shift transmission in the IS-F is technically worth mentioning for the press; In the automatic position, it changes eight gears like a conventional automatic transmission. In manual mode, when the driver gives the shift request using the steering wheel shift paddles, the torque converter is bypassed and the gears are shifted directly. The eighth gear, which has a long ratio, keeps the speed level and thus the travel consumption low.
