Darling, Now We're Shrunk is a 1997 American comedy film directed by Dean Cundey . It is a sequel to the Disney comedies Darling, I've Shrunk the Children (1989) and Darling, Now We Have One Giant Baby (1992). The film was produced directly for the video market.
action
Wayne Szalinski became President of Szalinski Labs. Both the Food and Drug Administration and his wife have banned him from ever using the shrink machine.
Wayne uses the machine anyway to miniaturize a bulky object (a two-meter tall Tiki man). He also mistakenly miniaturized himself and his brother. This later also happens to the two wives. The children think their parents are away and are having a party. Meanwhile, the miniaturized adults try to attract their children's attention, which they succeed. The rampaging party goers are unloaded.
The children start the shrink machine according to the parents' instructions, after which the adults return to normal height.
Reviews
- Steve Rhodes wrote in his review posted on Rotten Tomatoes that the comedy would be more enjoyable if one had not seen the other films in the series. The dialogues would seem implausible.
- At cinema.de it says about the film: "The number of good gags and effects has also decreased in the meantime, but the directorial debut of Jurassic Park cameraman Dean Cundey is still cute ."
- The lexicon of international films describes the film as a sequel "which is neither characterized by humor nor charm, but rather bores in a completely predictable way towards its educational end".
