The Likedeeler is a former general cargo ship and is currently a youth ship and a floating school camp in Rostock .

history

The ship was in 1962 by the VEB shipyard "Neptun" in Rostock as an identical eight ships Framo Albatross series laid the keel and the DSR in Rostock under the name Condor in freight traffic on the Baltic Sea , North Sea and in the Mediterranean used .

After the decommissioning in 1986 was Condor , led by Wolf Dietrich Barmwoldt converted into a floating Jugendfreizeitstätte and 1988 the GDR - GST "Young sailor" department passed.

After the fall of the Berlin Wall , an association was founded in 1991 to keep the ship as a youth ship, leisure home and conference center. In 1993, the association was officially commissioned by the city of Rostock with the independent sponsorship. The ship is moored on the Unterwarnow in the Rostock district of Schmarl in the immediate vicinity of the IGA Park. Around 20,000 people use the facility every year.

In 2017 the ship was overhauled at MV Werften Warnemünde .

The name "Likedeeler" was borrowed from the legend of Klaus Störtebeker and is intended to underline the equality of youth.

description

The ship was powered by a six-cylinder four-stroke diesel engine of the type 6NVD66Au built by Maschinenbau Halberstadt . The engine made 1,004  kW and worked through a reduction gear on a fixed propeller.

Three 4NVD26 diesel generators, each with an output of 120 hp (apparent power: 100 kVA ) and an emergency generator of the type 4NVD21 with 45 hp (apparent power: 33 kVA) were used to generate electricity  .

The ship, designed as a protective deck, had two holds with an intermediate deck . The two hatches were closed with MacGregor hatch covers, the tween decks consisted of wooden hatch covers that were placed on shear sticks . Eight cargo booms were available for cargo handling . The masts of the loading gear have been preserved.
