Linden is a district of the Straufhain community in the Hildburghausen district in Thuringia .

location

The small row village is located in the Heldburger Land near the Gleichberge on Landesstrasse 2671 and Landesstrasse 1133 . The linden trees are at the entrance to the village. The corridor of the district borders the Thuringian-Bavarian border. Thuringian neighbor is Schlechtsart , Bavarian neighbor is Trappstadt . The foothills are hilly and influenced by the more favorable Franconian climate.

history

The district was first mentioned in a document in 1300. The village community's documents are based on 1315. The village in Amt Römhild has been subordinate to several lords over time. In 1424 the construction of the first border began with the Landwehr . In 1518 they agreed on border disputes.

When the GDR was founded , 330 people lived in the village. In 1953 the LPG was founded. In 1956 the canalization took place in the village. In 1972/73 the culture house and the swimming pool were built. In 1973 the breeding center Linden / Gleichberg was established. In 2012 250 people lived in the district. In 2015 the population rose to 263.
