Location of Lintlhammer in Bavaria

Geographical location

The wasteland of Lintlhammer is located about one and a half kilometers northeast of Treffelstein on the banks of the Biberbach, which rises about seven kilometers further northeast across the German-Czech border on the slopes of the 698 m high Kozí vrch and flows six kilometers further south into the Bohemian Schwarzach .

history

In 1584, Hans Manner von Eglsee built a hammer mill in Lintlhammer, which may have existed before, but was closed. He received 60 days of dreary reasons from the rulers for which he had to pay 25 guilders interest annually. Then the iron hammer came to Johann Gerl zu Oberviechtach and was sold by him in 1669 to Count von Töring, landowner of Treffelstein. The hammer mill was completely deserted and was rebuilt in 1834 by hammer master Leonhard Mann. His successor was called Josef Eigner. He improved the hammer material and produced iron there. Eisenstein was found in 1844 in the field and meadow grounds north of Treffelstein.

In 1927 Lintlhammer successfully applied for his detachment from the parish of Ast and his assignment to the (closer) parish of Treffelstein.

On March 23, 1913 (Easter) Lintlhammer was listed as part of the parish of Ast with 2 houses and 14 residents. On December 31, 1990 Lintlhammer had 4 residents and belonged to the parish of Treffelstein.
