history

In 1613 it was mentioned that a child from Edlmühl attended school in Biberbach and in 1643 four children from Edlmühl went to school in Biberbach. At Edlmühl in 1680, the mercenary Georg Peter Schmidt had his four-year-old son stolen by a wolf, who ate the child up to a few small remains in a short time.

In a report from the regional directorate, Edlmühl was listed on May 2, 1806 as belonging to the Biberbach branch with 57 residents. In 1837 Edlmühl was listed in the diocesan register with 7 houses and 50 inhabitants. In 1845 it was noted that there were 8 house numbers with 70 inhabitants in Edlmühl, some of whom were very wealthy. At that time, the inhabitants of Edlmühl lived from growing flax and raising cattle. The Boiermühle with two gears and a cutting saw was mentioned in particular. On March 23, 1913 (Easter), Edlmühl was listed as part of the Treffelstein branch with 13 houses and 73 residents. The Boiermühle was specially named with a house and 9 residents.

In preparation for the Second World War , a concrete bunker was built in Edlmühl.

On December 31, 1990 Edlmühl had 34 inhabitants and belonged to the parish of Treffelstein.
