Geographical location

The wasteland Braunmühle is about 1.5 km northeast of Treffelstein am Braunmühlbach, which rises about 1.5 km further north in the Steinlohe and 2.5 km further south into the Biberbach.

history

In a report from the regional directorate, Braunmühle was listed on May 2, 1806 as belonging to the Biberbach branch with 10 residents. In 1837 the Braunmühle was listed in the diocesan register with one house and 10 residents. She came on October 1, 1840 from the district court district Neunburg vorm Wald to the royal district court Waldmünchen . In 1845 it was noted that there were 2 house numbers with 12 residents in Braunmühle. The inhabitants of Braunmühle practiced flax farming and cattle breeding, especially pig breeding with good success. The mill stood in the forest and used to belong to Treffelstein Castle. In 1863 the Braunmühle was listed in the diocesan register with one house and 16 residents as belonging to Treffelstein.

On March 23, 1913 (Easter), Braunmühle was listed as part of the Treffelstein branch with 3 houses and 20 residents. On December 31, 1990 Braunmühle had a resident and belonged to the parish of Treffelstein.
