The Lintorfer Tennisclub 1972 eV (LTC 72) is a tennis club in Ratingen-Lintorf .

timeline

The Lintorfer Tennisclub 1972 eV was founded on June 16, 1972. The first chairman was Manfred Eigendorf, who welcomed the 12 founding members and 197 other members to the LTC after the founding meeting. The official inauguration of the first nine tennis courts took place on July 20, 1974, the hall was opened on October 26, 1974 with an exhibition match between the world-class players Helga Masthoff and Cora Creydt .

After the establishment of the catering area and the inauguration of the clubhouse , the completion of the entire complex was celebrated on May 24, 1975. A year later, district championships were held in Lintorf for the first time, before two more clay courts were completed in 1977.

After the first sporting successes of the media teams , the club, which now has 650 members, celebrated its tenth anniversary with a big ceremony in June 1982 in the Ratinger town hall. The sporting successes also increased, in 1986 seven teams and two youth teams made the promotion. Three years later the first women even made it into the first league.

During this time, the LTC organized more and more tournaments, so the facility was expanded in 1991 to 13 outdoor and 3 indoor fields. With the expansion, the first women continued to soar. The provisional high point was promotion to the regional league in 1992 for the 20th anniversary. The men did not want to lag behind the successes of the women and in 1995 made the leap into the first league.

In addition, in 1995 the tennis hall was expanded to a 4 field hall and completely renovated.

Successes in the youth sector increased in the following years.

Just in time for the ceremony in Ratinger Stadthalle on the occasion of the 30th anniversary, the men even made it to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2002 and followed the women, who also played in the second-highest class after the regional league was converted.
