Source de la Lionne

The Lionne rises from a karst spring southeast of L'Abbaye . The spring water flows from a rock and comes from a network of underground tunnels and cracks that formed during the folding of the Jura Mountains. The Source de la Lionne (dt. Source of the Lionne) pours all year round. The exit of the spring cave is provided with a concrete wall and a lifting gate .

The Lionne runs a mill right after its source. It runs to the northwest, reaches the town of L'Abbaye and there flows into the Lac de Joux through which the Orbe flows .
